The abstracted paintings of Joe Warrior-Walker draw inspiration from landscape and movement. Through spending his childhood travelling between the UK and India, his works reflect a personal memory of these particular landscapes and the journeys through them.
Joe Warrior-Walker Paintings
Born in 1989, Joe Warrior-Walker grew up in St Ives, Cornwall. Much of his childhood was spent travelling across India – his mother’s homeland. In 2009 Warrior-Walker moved to London to study Fine Art at Chelsea School of Art. He then went on to complete a Masters Degree at UEA London.
Warrior-Walker is being presented in an upcoming solo show of new works, Chalkland at Septieme Gallery Paris, France, later this year. Recent solo shows include When Patterns Form Pictures at That Art Gallery Bristol, UK in 2018, and Pentimento at Tungsten Gallery, London, UK. Warrior Walker’s work has also been shown a number of group shows, including Now Now, curated by Ed Broner at Breach Gallery, Miami, USA, 2021, A Generous Space, curated by Matthew Burrows at Hastings Contemporary Gallery, UK, 2021 and most recently Crossing Point at Durden & Ray Gallery, Los Angeles, 2022.
He lives and works in Bristol.
