In 1934, he emigrated to the United States and joined Harper’s Bazaar, where he cultivated his distinctive practice of photographing models in motion. His energetic, spontaneous style influenced future photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson and Richard Avedon. Munkácsi passed away in New York City in 1963, leaving a celebrated legacy that continues to inspire modern photography.
