EnquireAs a photographer, visual artist and educator, Newsha Tavakolian has earned international acclaim for documenting social issues, from women’s rights in Iran to the aftermath of tensions in conflict zones. She has won numerous prestigious awards, including the Carmignac Gestion Photojournalism Award (2014) and the Prince Claus Award (2015). In 2019, she became a full member of Magnum Photos and also released her first short film, ‘For the Sake of Calmness’. Many international museums collect her work, including the V&A Museum (London), LACMA (Los Angeles), the British Museum (London), the Smithsonian (Washington D.C.), and also the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston).
