Framing

Sabiha Çimen: Girls Playing With A Pink Smoke Flare. For this picture, we recommend the 'BOX', a stylish frame that is slimmer from the front and deeper from the side. This contemporary method not only gives visual priority to the image but also fits seamlessly into most interiors. However, if you prefer a different look, other framing options are also available. Additionally, to ensure the highest levels of production, all of our frames are handcrafted to museum standards by one of the UK’s leading workshops. Please note that prices include tax, but exclude framing and shipping costs. Presented in collaboration with Magnum Photos.

Artwork In Detail

Sabiha Çimen’s series ‘Hafiz: Guardians of the Qur’an’ (2021) offers an intimate look single-sex Qur’an schools across Turkey, where adolescents memorise the Qur’an over several years. Drawing on her own experience, Çimen spent three years photographing girls’ schools in five cities. The work exudes individuality and curiosity within a structured religious environment, as well as the joys of youth. In a series of selected moments, as if from a daydream, Çimen presents us with scenes of quiet rebellion and playful spontaneity. Presented in collaboration with Magnum Photos.
